Unbeaten India today secured their semi-final place in the 2023 Cricket World Cup. India is the most prominent team in this World cup.No doubt about that. They played today against New Zealand at Dharamsala under foggy weather in front of the Himalayan mountain.
Before the match started, both teams had equal points. They had won all four games before and kept the first and second positions in the point table. Definitely, one team need to be loose today. It happened in India’s favour. New Zealand lost the game by four wickets.
Now, India stays in the commanding position. They played five games and won each game. Now, ten points are put into the bank. Even another four matches to go. That means they are reaching the semi-final even before half of the tournament ends. Only one team could win all nine games. If it is, it should be India.
India won the toss and invited New Zealand to bat first. They are all out for 273. Daryl Mitchell has played a leading role, while Rachin Ravindra gave him full support to build the New Zealand inning. Mitchell got a tremendous 130 runs and made a partnership with Rachin Ravindra.
Ravindra scored 75 runs. Ravindra and Mitchell made a 159 partnership for the third wicket when Ravindra was caught by Shubman Gill.
Mohammed Shami is the bowler of the match. Indian pacemen collected five wickets in the match, including Ravindra and Mitchell.
India played their reply inning very gently. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started as usual and aggressively. They made 71 runs partnership for the first wicket. Then Virat Kohli continued his responsible batting style and collected 95 runs but was unfortunately caught by Phillips in the 48th over. But that loss did not matter to India’s win. Always a winning batter, Ravindra Jadeja was there with unbeaten 37 runs until India’s favourite win.
