Record-breaking Prize Money for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024

The competition winners are guaranteed to receive a minimum of $2.45 million (USD) from the total prize pool of $11.25 million, while the runners-up will be awarded at least $1.28 million. Additionally, each participating team is assured a minimum of $225,000 for participating in the event.

20-team tournament

In the upcoming ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the victorious team in the 20-team tournament will be awarded a minimum prize of $2.45 million, marking the highest prize money ever offered in the tournament’s history.

Additionally, the winning team will be honoured to lift the trophy at the prestigious Kensington Oval in Barbados on 29 June. The runners-up will receive a minimum of $1.28 million, while the losing semi-finalists will each walk away with $787,500 from the total prize fund of $11.25 million.

$382,500 each

The four teams that don’t make it out of the Super 8s for the tournament will receive $382,500 each. Meanwhile, the teams placed 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th will receive $247,500 each. For participants finishing 13th to 20th place, the amount awarded will be $225,000.

Furthermore, each team will earn an additional $31,154 for every match they win, except for the semi-finals and final. This bonus is awarded based on the team’s performance in the group stage, where each win adds to their total earnings.

55 matches

This mega ICC T20 World Cup event will span across 28 days, consisting of 55 matches. The matches will take place at nine different venues located in the West Indies and the USA, showcasing the global reach and appeal of the tournament. This edition of the T20 World Cup is set to be the biggest one yet.
