A remarkable World Cup century was made by Glenn Maxwell today at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, putting the whole cricket world into the fantasy within 53 minutes. He only faced 40 balls to reach that World Cup record as the fastest 100 ever made in cricket World Cup history.
That was a really nearly one-hour blockbuster episode of cricket.
How confident he is today. It’s not a technical batting, though. Beautiful sixers, hard-hitting fours around the ground, and even some ridiculous reverse sweep against Dutch fast bowlers without thinking twice.
Today is the day of the Maxwell until Engelbrecht catches him at deep mid-on in their final over. Kangaroos gave to the Dutch batters today to chase 399 runs. These 399 runs included two magnificent centuries and two half centuries. One century was made by one and only David Warner.
That is his second century in this World Cup. he made a 132-run partnership with Steven Smith for the second wicket. They built a solid foundation for the Australian inning. Then, batten was given by Smith to the labuschagne. Smith made 71 runs. It is the first half-century in this World Cup Smith made.
Labuschagne collected a quick 62 runs; however, the Australian run rate dropped slightly. When Engelbrecht caught Josh Inglis in the 39th over, Australia had 266 runs. Then David Warner is gone for 104 runs. Just 267 runs on the board. Now, the Dutch team have relieved their stress. But Maxwell is at the wicket. Dutch skipper Scott Edwards never imagined what would happen within the next minute. But it happened. Maxwell started to dance on the wicket with his smiling face. Wherever the ball comes, he sends it to the boundary. It does not matter how. He hit the ball very hard. Those are lightning-fast shots. He included eight sixes and nine fours for his 106 runs and won the Man of the Match award.
Finally, Australia beat Netherlands by a massive 309 runs and reached the number four in the point table. Confused Dutch batters just collected 90 runs and all out in 21 overs.Adam Zampa the leg spinner is collected four wickets for the Australia.
