Trump’s victory, second term and global influence

I am ready to fight for every American citizen. I am both your 45th and 47th President. Donald Trump has stated this. He urged the American people to work together to heal our country. He emphasised that a golden age had begun and that America had achieved an unprecedented victory. This victory belongs to the American people.

They have given us an extraordinary mandate, and we have regained control of the Senate. I do not start wars; I am committed to stopping them. We have experienced no wars, nor do we have any need for them. Donald Trump celebrated his victory on Wednesday while addressing his supporters in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Victory celebration

When Donald Trump, elected as the new President of the United States, emphasised key points during his speech, his Republican supporters cheered with excitement. His family members and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance stood beside him.

Trump referenced the assassination attempt on July 13, stating that God saved his life for a special purpose, indicating that it was God’s will to protect America. Throughout his address, Trump expressed gratitude to his wife, Melania, and kissed her on the cheek. Notably, Trump declared his victory before the media announced the final results.

First greetings from Israel

The Speaker of the House in the United States has announced that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has been elected as the new president. Notably, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was among the first world leaders to congratulate him.

In a post on X, Netanyahu referred to Trump as the “greatest comeback in history” and expressed that Trump’s return to the White House signifies a new beginning for America and strengthens the important alliance between Israel and the United States.

The American stock market has begun to rise rapidly following the announcement of Trump’s impending victory. Vice President Kamala Harris cancelled her address to supporters, realising she would not become the new president. Meanwhile, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Trump by sending a message on X, stating, “Congratulations to my friend.”

Kamala’s lost luck

According to the American electoral system, the candidate with the most votes is not always the winner due to the role of the Electoral College. There are a total of 538 electoral votes, and a candidate needs at least 270 of them to win the presidency. In the recent election, Trump secured more than 270 electoral votes.

However, in 2016, Hillary Clinton received the highest number of votes nationally but lost the presidential election. The campaign for the 2024 U.S. presidential election has been significant from the start, especially with Joe Biden stepping aside and allowing Kamala Harris to become the Democratic candidate, which is an unprecedented event.

Joe Biden did not perform well in the first televised debate against Donald Trump. Since the President was unsuccessful, the responsibility shifted to Kamala Harris. However, Kamala also missed the opportunity to become the first female president of the United States.

On two occasions, there were attempts to assassinate presidential candidate Donald Trump. One incident occurred in Pennsylvania, where a shot was fired at him. A bullet grazed his ear, and if it had been off by just a tenth of an inch, history could have been drastically different.

The U.S. Congress is made up of the House of Representatives, which has a total of 435 seats, and the Senate, which has 100 seats. The Republican Party has now taken the majority in both chambers, having previously lost control of the Senate to the Democrats.

This shift has brought significant changes. Many believe that Donald Trump secured the support of the white, Christian demographic in America. Some even suggested that Trump had been re-elected by divine will to lead the country, a notion that was expressed even before the presidential election.

Inauguration on Monday 20 January 2025

Election observers had anticipated attempts to delay the certification of the 2024 election results at both local and state levels, but those efforts did not materialise. They had predicted that various groups would try to create doubt about the election outcome. However, everything proceeded peacefully. On Monday, January 20, 2025, Trump’s supporters will be able to celebrate this peaceful victory in a grand manner.

It has been decided that the inauguration of the 47th President will take place at the Capitol Complex Stadium. This marks the 60th presidential inauguration in U.S. history. During this event, the new President, Donald Trump, will pledge to uphold the Constitution.

Donald Trump was born in 1946

Donald Trump was born on June 14, 1946. His father, Fred Trump, was an American real estate businessman. After graduating with a degree in economics from a university in Pennsylvania, Trump made his mark in the business world.

He entered politics as a member of the Republican Party in 1987. In 2012, he rejoined the Republican Party after a brief period of fluctuating membership. A significant milestone in his political journey was winning the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. Trump went on to become the 45th President of the United States by defeating his rival, Hillary Clinton.

Six people lost their lives during the riots and clashes involving Trump supporters at the Capitol building following Trump’s bitter defeat in the 2020 presidential election. This event is considered one of the darkest moments in Trump’s political career. After his defeat, several lawsuits were filed against him, making him the first president in American history to be indicted for a crime.

Second term activism and the border wall

How will Trump perform in his second term as President of the United States? This question is on the minds of many people. Commentators suggest that President Trump will resume his agenda from the end of his first term.

One unfinished project is the closure of the southern border and the construction of a border wall. This initiative could not be completed as he had envisioned because Congress did not approve the necessary funding. He has pledged to complete its construction during this term as well.

Immigrant Deportation and Tax Reform

He has also committed to a project aimed at deporting individuals who do not have legal permission to remain in the country. According to national estimates, there were approximately 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States in 2022. However, mass deportation of immigrants is an expensive process.

Undocumented labor has emerged as a significant component of the economy, and it is believed that deportation could negatively affect certain sectors. He has promised to put an immediate stop to the ongoing inflation crisis and to reduce interest rates and energy costs. Additionally, he aims to implement an economic program focused on simplifying the tax system and encouraging investments.

One of his plans is to further reduce business tax rates to 15% and eliminate taxes on pensions and Social Security payments. Trump has expressed interest in increasing oil exploration, as high costs have contributed to inflation, and believes that this could help lower energy costs.

The deal with China

A key element of his economic policy is his proposal to impose tariffs ranging from 10% to 20% on foreign goods, with a 60% tariff specifically on imported goods from China. It is evident that warnings have been issued indicating that American consumers will face higher prices as a result of these actions. Many people still remember Trump’s trade war with Beijing during his first term, where he accused China of engaging in unfair trade practices and stealing intellectual property.

In the recent election, the Republican Party has taken control of the Senate. To gain power in the House of Representatives, a party must win 218 seats; currently, there are 211 seats occupied. Based on the opinions expressed, it seems likely that the Republican Party will gain control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

If that occurs, Trump will likely have the chance to easily pass legislation that includes funding for completing the border wall as well as implementing tax cuts. One of Trump’s primary goals is to repeal the constitutional right to abortion. Many believe that he will focus on overcoming the obstacles to achieve this during his second term.

Foreign policy

In foreign policy, President Trump’s second term will likely mirror the approach of his first term. His primary focus has been to protect the United States from conflicts occurring around the world. He aims to negotiate a settlement with Russia and has previously stated that the war in Ukraine could end within 24 hours.

Although some have criticised it as a statement that encourages Russian President Vladimir Putin, many believe that Trump could pursue a negotiated solution with him. Another important question is how Trump will respond to Israel’s actions, particularly regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza. While Trump has been seen as a strong supporter of Israel, he has not provided a clear answer on how to address this situation. Nonetheless, many share the opinion that his vision of a world without wars could also apply to the Gaza Strip.
